Imperfect – Scene 01 – Realisation

Imperfect Realisation I collected what I needed for my trip to see the place that I was born, and having psyched myself up for the trip I left the house. Almost as soon as I did I saw Rosie coming towards me at a very rapid walking pace and with a serious determined look on her face. She was only about ten feet away when I noticed her. "Hi, Rosie!" I cheerily greeted her. "Back inside. Quickly!" she replied, grabbing and spinning me round as she got to me without slowing down. As soon as we were inside Rosie apologised for handling me, "Look, I'm sorry about being rough on you, but it's important that we stick together for a bit. Have you seen Charlie or Cat recently?" "I haven't seen Charlie since yesterday morning, nor Cat since about tea-time yesterday.…

A215 Short Fiction – Planting the Past

Art journal ideas1 - give away (Photo credit: ewian) This is a piece of short fiction written for the first online tutorial of A215 Creative Writing. It followed on from three exercises intended to spur some creativity. The exercises centred around thinking of a place that you love being and then asked questions about that place. The first was some descriptive writing about the place, things you could see, smell, hear etc. The second was to write about a flash memory in the present tense and the last was to list some facts about the place and then spin off some 'what ' questions related to those facts. Perfects – Chapter 3 Trust

Chapter 2 - Pandora CHAPTER THREE Trust It took me a long time to catch up with Charlie, he was in and out at all hours, and really only came home to sleep, wash, change and very rarely eat. When I did see him he clearly had a good income, he had a pair of wraparound shades that were visual terminal spectacles rather than the more normal ones. He was a little taller than me, but not especially tall for a bloke. I couldn’t tell what his eyes were like and he was wearing a close fitting cap on his head that hid most of his hair. What little of it I could see was dark. He was wearing good clothes, quality labels in a common fashion. I doubted…

Sainsburys Deli Cooking Instructions

Please support themself by borrowing or buying one of my books.  These cooking instructions for Sainsbury's Deli made sure I got my dinner this evening. After a couple of hours trying to get back home with the new (to us) car I realised that the chap in Sainsbury's had forgotten to add the cooking instructions to the takeaway curry I'd bought. A minute or so with google turned up trumps! I've cut and pasted them here just in case the original goes off-line for any reason . Sainsbury's Deli Cooking Instructions Allergies: Because of the way products are handled, it's possible that nuts, seeds and other allergens may be present in any item. Cooking Instructions: All cooking appliances vary, these are guidelines only. ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE PRODUCT IS PIPING HOT BEFORE SERVING Conventional Oven Cooking Instructions Transfer contents into an ovenproof…

Improper Ganda!

A fantastic collection of propaganda posters that have been photoshopped to change the message. Very funny, especially the re-enactment one, and the Cthulhu poster. Worth a few minutes of browsing past in my opinion.
